GEOSERVER CARTOGRAPHIC RENDERING: NEW FEATURES FOR MAP MAKERS
Abstract
GeoServer rendering engine has been historically modelled against the OGC SLD 1.0 specification. However, over the years a number of vendor extensions have been introduced to better deal with real world mapping needs.
This presentation will provide an overview of these extensions, such as advanced map labeling control, extensible map symbology, attribute dependent graphics URLs, overlaying charts over a map, geometric transformations, symbol sizes expressed in real world units and parametric SLDs.
The presentation will also briefly introduce map CSS as an alternative, compact, easier to manage syntax for map styling.
