ISTSOS: SENSOR OBSERVATION SERVICE IN PYTHON
Abstract
The Sensor Observation Service is one of the OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) defined standard aiming to make networks of sensors interoperable. The main aim of this is young standard is to provide an open interface capable to serve data to scientists for successive analyses, to managers for supporting comprehensive decision and back to sensors for intelligent networks operations.
istSOS is a new Sensor Observation Service software developed by the Institute of Earth Sciences in Switzerland. This software, entirely developed in python, is available under a GNU GPL v2 licence and implements the version 1.0 of the SOS standard.
This presentation want to lunch the new developed Free and Open Source Software to the OSGeo community describing the software design, its requirements and capabilities and finally some application examples.
