 MAPEA: PUT A MAP IN YOUR LIFE FOR DUMMIES

Abstract

Mapea is a mashup of maps. This mashup is developed using open source components such as OpenLayers library and according to OGC standards. Mapea allows to add a map in any html page through an easy and documented API.

The mashup allows to configure the map to display, navigation utilities to include and other actions to set the view of the map. For configure the map, Mapea allows to add WMC files, WMS layers, full WMS services and KML files. Users can also select which controls they want to add in the map, for example, navegation bar, layer switcher, overview map, zoom bar, map coordinates, etc. Finally, this component lets you display the map centred on a coordinate and a zoom level or a bounding box.

In conclusion, Mapea is an easy-use open source component which let to add a fully configurable map on any web page without knowledges about map technologies and following OGC standards.
